A Request for Your Questions

After I sent out my last message, I got some interesting feedback from a friend. He noticed that I usually pose a question or two at the end of my messages for reflection. He suggested I invite readers to actually send me their questions (perhaps questions that were provoked by my message), I collect them and choose several good ones, then I send my responses to my readers. Sort of like a "Dear Abby" column via the 'Net or, in more modern terms, a "modified blog" if you will. I thought that was a great idea, so I'm doing that today. As opposed to sending a message on a topic, I am writing this message to invite you to send me your questions so that I can respond to them. I thought I would provide a catalyst for questions by summarizing some of the topics I've written about in the last year:

  • We all have moods and have the ability to design our moods. They don't have to have us. But first, we must notice them in order to be able to shift them.
  • If you want something in life, you must learn to make effective requests. Silent expectations of others produce nothing but frustration and resentment.
  • Great leaders and managers are masters at conversation because they realize conversations are at the heart of great leadership and management.
  • Why have we stopped being honest? It's costing us dearly! Developing the emotional strength to be honest, to be authentic, every moment in life can produce amazing results for you personally and professionally.
  • Wake up and pay attention! We must become better Observers of ourselves in order to create any kind of change in our life.
  • Acceptance of the facts of our life is the direct path to peace. What are you opposing about your life (past or present) that is creating suffering?
  • Really good listening is the key to great communication. We've been focusing on the wrong thing - speaking.
  • Others literally don't see the same world you do. Do you treat others as valid human beings with a valid point of view, or are you trapped in your self-righteousness about the way you see it and the way it is?
  • As human beings we have an ongoing capacity to learn until we die. What gets in your way of learning these days?

So, my request of you is this:

Please respond to this message and send me any question(s) you have related to these topics, or more specifically around a concern or issue (or a place you feel "stuck") you have in your life.

And my promise to you is this:

I will collect your questions and respond to 2 - 5 of them in my next message, depending on the length of the question and the answer. I will remove any names of people or places in order to protect the anonymity of the questioner and the people in their lives, and I ask that you do the same.

In addition, for those questions I don't put in my next message (make public), I will attempt to answer as many of them as I can privately given my current schedule.

I look forward to the response to this e-mail!
